Our Car Wash was a success!

August 27th was the date of our last car wash fundraiser, and it was a huge success!  Enough funds were raised to pay for the expenses of PDCOR's upcoming performance in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada!  The girls had a great amount of fun with the car washes, and they all appreciated the help of all the volunteers, in particular - Gregg Starks, Robb Mushtare III, and Aldrin Lopez.

There was a great show of support for our cause, in the Filipino and American community.  In particular, the Blue Boys Family (Tikboy & Bella ) members of the Rochester Hot Rod Club, the congregation of the   Transfiguration Lutheran Church of Irondequoit, and the staff and management of Walgreen's - Irondequoit.  Half of the money collected will go directly towards supporting the Friends In Need meals delivery service.

Everybody did their fair share to help, even the kids of one  of our volunteers, Fedeling  Harding were willing to give  it a try,  as well as Roselyn Sansone and daughter Maria Rose.  Much thanks to all  those who stopped by to bring food for our lovely  ladies and volunteers!

Block Rosary of Rochester 2011 Annual Picnic

Last August 21, 2011, The Philippine Dance Company of Rochester was invited by the Block Rosary Group to perform at their annual picnic, at Genesee Valley County Park in Rochester, New York. The girls appreciated this opportunity to perform very much, and we all enjoyed our time at the picnic. It was an honor for PDCOR to be given the chance to perform for them. Thanks to Ethel Conley and Clare Maloney, for the generous donation of bottles to our bottle drive.  Special thanks to Dra. Fe Whitcomb, president of the Block Rosary, Susan Rivaldo, Bella Ambubuyog, Blandina Bergado, and of course the Blue Boys Family!  Thank you all so much!

"Friends In Need" meals delivery service

This past Spring, the members of PDCOR launched their "Friends In Need" meals delivery program, when they were made aware of a local Filipina who was suffering a relapse of bone cancer.  While she is undergoing her chemotherapy, she has become very weak.  By providing freshly cooked meals to her, she has been able to relax more and not be concerned with cooking for her family.  PDCOR also was able to provide meals for another Filipina, who had complications while giving birth.  Feel free to contact us, if you know of anyone who would benefit from this program.
Supplementing this program are the various fundraising events that PDCOR participates in, such as the ongoing Bottle Drive, and upcoming car wash.  Thanks to the generous donations of bottles, hard working volunteers, tireless cooks,and of course our lovely dancers, this program continues to be a growing success!  May God Bless you all, for your giving hearts!
